Point(s) to take from the last Halqa lecture
Your Parents: Do you owe them?

One of the take home lessons from the December Monthly Halqa Session was that the lecturer advised us to memorise a beautiful dua from the Quran that connects three generations: Our parents, ourselves and our children. It is a dua for being grateful to Allah for ourselves and our parents, seeking guidance to good deeds, asking for Righteous children and seeking forgiveness. Here is the dua below. Please let us memorise and say it every day. "rabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen" “My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instil righteousness in my offspring. I truly repent to You, and I truly submit ˹to Your Will˺.” Quran 46:15
